Nan-Yao Su holds a bait station, Thursday 1/18, used to
monitor and control termites at the Christiansted National Historic Site
in St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands. All attempts to control the pest at
the popular tourist attraction failed until Su, a University of Florida
entomologist, installed his new termite control system at the fort. Now,
three years later, the fort is termite-free. Developed by Su, the system
is licensed by UF's Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences to DowAgroSciences
in Indianapolis. (AP photo: Thomas Wright, University of Florida/IFAS)
