The IFAS Communication Services (ICS) news team
is looking for strong news stories that have state, national and international
potential. These can be based upon research findings, new technologies, presentations
and special programs and events with significant consumer or environmental
impact.
ICS
is particularly interesting in developing stories that the Associated Press
(AP) and other national media services might pick up stories you would commonly
see in newspapers, magazines and on television. Stories with a strong visual
or graphic component are ideal for newspaper photographs and television news.
Some items that are of particular
interest to AP include:
* newly-published studies that
indicate a significant finding
* inventions that are
about to be commercialized
* major grant awards
* discovery of significant
natural phenomena
* new pests and diseases
(and successful control measures)
* work that ties into
major current events
